According to, a rare copy of AC/DC’s debut Australian single, “Can I Sit Next To You, Girl”, backed with “Rockin’ In The Parlour”, just sold on eBay for a whopping $4,471! The New Zealand-only Polydor label pressing of the single fetched this new record price on the auction site in Wednesday, July 23.

The original “Can I Sit Next To You, Girl” seven-inch vinyl came out in 1974 on Albert Productions (through EMI Australia) and is one of the most sought-after AC/DC singles ever. The track features lead vocals by AC/DC’s original singer Dave Evans, who was subsequently replaced by Bon Scott.

“Can I Sit Next To You, Girl” was later re-recorded with Scott on vocals for the “TNT” album.
