There is a reason why bands release an EP a couple of months  before their new full length studio album. Especially when their previous album was out seven years ago, like Carcass and  despite the fact that “Surgical Steel” was a triumph both commercially and artistically. “Despicable” doesn’t only fills the big time gap, but also sets the bar so high and makes even bigger the anticipation for the new album too. Cause its four songs were cut from the track listing of their upcoming record as its b sides or relics, name them whatever flows your boat,  and that is a proof that shows how great the band thinks the new material is. I don’t know many out there that wouldn’t add “Under The Scalpel Blade”, “The Long And Winding Bier Road” or “Slaughter in Soho” in their albums. But if you are Carcass you have this endeavor luxury to do so. Even the lazy “The Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue” is a killer. So until “Torn Arteries” arrives you can bet your money on this without any hesitation…
