Greetings guys, this is Metal Invader. How are things lately?
Hi there! It’s alright, driving across Romania towards Sofia at the moment.
Please introduce the band to our readers.
The band started in 2004, released 15+ records including full-length albums, split 7″, compilations and such, played all over the EU in fests like OEF 2011, Bloodshed, Inferno Fest and many more. Check our FB page for extensive info on our whereabouts.
How did you end up in this name?
Our former singer Pallino came up with this awkward name. Our previous moniker was Necropenis, so the new one sounded much better to us. It means blood eater. We love eating blood!
You’ve been active since 2004 (officially), however you have only released three albums so far. How come this was the case?
We have always been busy with tons of other projects in both extreme music (Morbo, Undead Creep, Gravesite, Assumption, Stasis, Elevators to the Grateful Sky, Noise Demon, Sergeant Hamster…) and even in broader styles. That might be a reason. Keep in mind that the albums are just a small part of our discography.
What were your original goals when you first started out as a band and how many of the goals you have set at times have been achieved so far?
We wanted to pay homage to our lifetime influences REPULSION, PUNGENT STENCH, AUTOPSY, BLACK SABBATH and blend them all together. There should always be more to achieve for us but we’re already glad we were enabled to experience a good bunch of nice moments along the way.
When you are composing music do you have maybe some references, be it books, movies, artists, people, that inspire you?
Haemophagus are mainly influenced by horror flicks and books. Our third album showcased more varied topics, but generally speaking we try to keep lyrics as twisted and demented as ever possible.
You’re due to appear in Greece for the very first time. How do you feel?
We’re a very very excited to visit your wonderful country! Its culture, food and ancient extreme music are unbelievably important on a worldly scale. It’s simply an honour for us and we can’t wait to be there.
What have you prepared for us? What to expect from Haemophagus?
Expect nothing but a high-energy, electricified dose of death metal right between the eyes!
What does the future hold for you?
Playing, composing, grinding on the road. Repeat until cosmos implodes.
The closing is yours.
We want to thank you much Konstantinos Analytis for the opportunity! IN NECROMANCY WE GRIND
