Atrae Bilis is a new band from Canada a country that rarely disappoints us when it comes to extreme music. They were created in 2018 in Vancouver. Their first effort, the EP “Divinihility” probably didn’t reach many ears but their debut “Apexapien” made a sensation in the underground scene, receiving very positive reviews. “Aumicide” moves in the same pattern musically and those who know them know what to expect from it. On their second record, it is crucially important to show that they are moving steadily at a high compositional level and that their debut was no firework or something. Any variations and experimentation can come later. After all, we are talking about a very demanding sub-genre by definition. Technical death metal demands high skills from all musicians. There is usually a lot of information that reaches our ears but Atrae Bilis manage in their own way to be quite direct. Their logic is quite reminiscent of Ulcerate and somewhat less of Suffocation. They have a distinctly solid and robust sound, dynamic and unpredictable changes and small doses of atmosphere and melody, just enough to breathe in their suffocating compositions. “Aumicide” has all the makings to level them up and reach more listeners. Fans of the genre can check it out with confidence that they’ll find something really good.
