I’m sure you all love Christmas and New Year. A lot of people have days off from work to spend some time with friends and family. You can sit nice and cosy inside with a Christmas tree and get drunk drinking warm cider, gluhwein, rakomelo… or whatever your nation’s typical holiday drink is. And last of all: gifts gifts gifts!!!

But I bet some of you might get annoyed hearing Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ or Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Wish For Christmas Is You’ almost 15 times a day… Have no worries, from now on you can spice up the Christmas spirit with some Christmas carols of your favorite rock or metal bands. I have collected over a 100 songs in a YouTube playlist you can blast from your speakers to celebrate with your friends (or to annoy your visiting mother-in-law). I hope all of you find something you like. The list contains classic metal artists such as AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Dio, King Diamond, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Twisted Sister. For you punk lovers out there I have included Bad Religion’s Christmas album. If you’re more into folk rock I’m sure you will appreciate some Jethro Tull and Blackmore’s Night. People who like more modern metal styles, be sure to look up Korn and August Burns Red. Guitar virtuosos like Steve Vai and Funtwo offer an instrumental take of some classics while the Trans Siberian Orchestra offers a whole metal Christmas opera with some songs of their 3 Christmas albums. If you just want to have a good laugh listen to Bob Rivers covering Iron Man (‘I am Santa Claus’) and Rock Sugar’s parody of their Enter Sandman – Don’t Stop Believing mashup (‘Don’t Stop The Santa Man’).
