Accuser come to add to the list of German bands that started in the mid 80’s, split in the early 90’s and reunited in the mid-late 00’s.
‘The Forlorn Divine’ is their 4th album after this reunion and probably their best ever since. It’s always good to see bands getting more aggressive as the years go by instead of wimping out. Their new release is pouring out aggression with the bucket from “Lust For Vengeance” all the way to “Flow Of Dying”. Frank Thoms (their only original member) on both vocals and guitars delivers once more and shows to younger bands how it’s done. And it’s not hard to do it when you have the beast called Oliver Fechner behind the drums. Not that the rest of the guys stand back! Though this band comes from Germany they sound like they’re from the other side of the Atlantic with their explosive mix of NY hardcore and US thrash from both east and west coast (mostly east). And trust me if they were American they would be huge today. Songs like “Perish By Oblivion” or “Arbitrary Law” are not written everyday from most bands of their genre.
All in all, it’s a very good album from the veterans of aggressive thrashcore.
Well done Accuser!
