“Penalty By Perception” is the 8th album of the veteran speed/thrashers Artillery and their fans must rub their hands out of excitement. At least the fans of the second era of the band.
First things first. Their first three albums up until 1990 were more aggressive and loose, different times, different sound. B.A.C.K (1999) was not bad but it wasn’t the great comeback either. On the other hand, “When Death Comes” (2009) seem to put them straight back to the European thrash map and now after three more albums they are releasing their new album. “Penalty By Perception” is thrashing from the beginning to the end, with the trademark guitars of the Stützer brothers kicking ass, tempo changes and the classic Artillery leads that work as a painkiller to the pounding of the rhythm section.
Comparing this album with the previous releases, it’s the best they released since 2009-if not the best equal to “When Death Comes”. Just press repeat on “Rites Of War”, “Cosmic Brain”, the title track and “Live By the Scythe”.
Those of you not familiar with Artillery, their new album is good opportunity to get to know them, the fans (especially those who like them after 2009-like we said) will get it with their eyes closed. Pedal to the Medal!
