Genre: Heavy Metal
Country: Chile
Label: Evil Confrontation Records
Year: 2014

Debut album for the chileans Axe Battler, after the release of “The Wrath Of My Steel” EP in 2010. Their sound is flirting with the old-fashioned traditional heavy metal, with obvious influences from Iron Maiden, Omen and Cloven Hoof. Everything here, the production, the vocals, the music, reminds elements taken straight from the 80’s. The album seems that has nothing new to offer in today’s heavy metal, but fans of old, pure melodic heavy metal will not let it go unnoticed.

The group’s addiction to greek mythology is almost obvious. From the cover artwork (Perseus & Medusa) to the song titles and lyrics. They have a trilogy dedicated to Hercules – Perseus – Theseus and the Spartans (“Marching Phalanxes”). Even the singer has changed his name in a greek one, he converted his real name, Juan Pablo de la Torre, to Giannis Delatorrakis!
