Country: Italy
Label: Doomentia Records
Year: 2014

Barbarian is an Italian band, raping all posers that claim that being old school is something that holds Heavy Metal stagnant or not evolving. After all being A.W.O.S.H.M. (‘Ageless Wave of Stubborn Heavy Metal’) proud supporters says a lot about their sound. Two years after their split with Bunker 66 (2012), where the Italians showed their respect and love for Celtic Frost, now it’s time for their first full length. Primitive, raw production, filthy sound, N.W.O.B.H.M. moments in a full of black and death metal influenced Thrash Metal environment, that won’t disappoint anyone that worships ’80s atmosphere.

Old school traditional metal with feral vocals and guitar solos heading to Maiden could also describe their sound, but who needs more description??? 30 minutes of pure Venom/Celtic Frost – like thrash, half an hour of honest barbaric vandalism is what you get either way. Killer tracks the title-track, the “Inhale the Dead”, the crawling demon almost doomy “Crux et Circenses” and the closer “We are the Profane”. Only for the true ones…
