First full length effort for the Slovacs with nine tracks of pure concrete. A mix of d-beat/crust and swedish death metal and a production which refers a lot to the good old Scandinavian sound. Many rhythms brought in mind Entombed, Dismember and all the North’s veterans. A well crafted record without unecessary trinkets, and with bonebreaking mid-tempos. I think that we do not come across bands like these anymore, this combination of death metal wth a punk aesthetic is something that the scene misses nowdays. Beton do it the right way because obviously they believe it and most of all they understand, they feel it. So all of the keepers of the traditional scandinavian sound that want a more punk view of things i think they will enjoy it a great deal. The only thing that annoyed me were the vocals, they were one dimensional, but of course many of you will love it, i would prefer them to be more expressive but as I said before this is a purely subjective thing on how anyone perceives it. The album was released back in 2014 through a four label collaboration. The cover brought in mind the Nihilist’s demos, in a few words this is as it should be for this genre, thirty five minutes is enough for anyone to satisfy their appetite for Beton!
