Well, as the name implies ,Blackened are into bay area styled thrash. Formed in 2012 and having released two ep’s and a split ep with “Emergencia” ,the band’s latest offer is a mini cd. Here you can trace lots of influences from bands as 80ies Metallica/Forbidden and the likes. The guys are up to their art as they are skilled musicians while the vocals are into some sort of a “shouting out loud” hardcore style, not bad i may say, but i think that they should work on the composing part a bit. Although, as i mentioned earlier ,they are skilled musicians ,i think that they should focus on writing “cathier” songs. Something that they manage to accomplish on “TxNxDx” ,a really cool tune. They should also concetrate on the production. Although it is not bad i think that they stepped a bit over the line trying to sound “old school”. Anyway ,i think that fans of the bay area sound should give them a listen and especially the tune “TxNxDx” which I think is a really good reason to bang their heads.
