BROND a four-piece rock band from Sofia, Bulgaria that formed in 2012. Their music is a mixture of influences that may or may not remind you of Rollins Band, Refused, Helmet, Don Caballero, and Baroness. In 2015 the band released their debut EP ‘Feint’ via Magnetic Eye Records (US). The effort was recorded by Petar Peikov in the band’s rehearsal space/studio “The Spell Shelter” and was mixed/produced by Aaron Harris (Palms, ex-ISIS). The mastering was done by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering – California – USA who has recently done work for the latest Faith No More record among many others. The lyrical themes in ‘Feint’ include, but are not limited to running forever, jumping into volcanoes, the social implications of living in a post-communist country, oils spills and humanity’s inherent greed. The album was released on August 11, 2015.
In 2016 BROND started working on their next record, a full-length titled ‘Graveyard Campfire’, which was partly inspired by the political self-immolation cases that took place in 2014 in Bulgaria. The LP is a DIY release available on vinyl/digital/CD that will come out on April 18th, followed by a European Tour in April and May that will span across 11 countries. ‘Graveyard Campfire’ was recorded in Sofia Session Studio by Plamen Penchev, mixed/produced by Justin Pizzoferrato (Elder, Dinosaur Jr. & Thurston Moore), and mastered by James Plotkin.
BROND has previously shared the stage with the internationally acclaimed acts Kylesa, PHILM (ex-Dave Lombardo), Torche, Sigiriya, and Therapy?, among others.
