Α concert-goer was ejected from a downtown Vancouver bar at a Death Preacher concert after raising his arm in a Nazi salute. The promoter Joey Hockin stated that this is the first time his company, Journeyman Productions has had to throw out someone from a concert over something like this. We have zero tolerance for any kind of hatred – outside or inside the venue. It’s not a joke anymore.”
Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson reacted on the matter and stated on CBC News that “Nazi salutes have no place whatsoever in any kind of music community I want to belong to. I think people need a little bit more of a lesson in history, rather than a lesson in ignorance, which seems to be dished out far too often. People in this country — across the USA, Canada, the U.K.— fathers and grandfathers, fought and died to build a world in which this kind of thing doesn’t go on.”
