Cannibal Corpse are back with their 14th album, once again teaching lessons about how should this music be played. This album is 100% Cannibal Corpse-like and will stick as a worm to everyone’s ear and everyone should praise it. Red Before Black is featuring12 tracks. The opening “Only One Will Die” is a warning sign of what is coming up. Classic Paul Mazurkiewicz drumming along with heavy lead guitars are the starting point for some gruesome headbanging, while Fisher is puking his lungs out screaming. Tracks like “Code Of The Slashers”, “Shedding My Human Skin”, “Heads Shoveled Off” and “Corpus Delicti” are a proof that this band’s lyrical starting point will always be perversion, violence and brutality, while gore and splatter will always be their guiding light. When it comes to production, this album reaches perfection. There is not a single zip on it since Erik Rutan was the one responsible for it. But what I like the most about their latest releases is the drumming, especially the side drum which is way too powerful. The album contains some elements that have been important to the band’s latest releases for a long time, like “The Wretched Spawn”, “Kill” and“Evisceration Plague”. It can easily beat “Torture” while compete with “Evisceration Plague”. It’s part evil, part brutal. Every member is being extremely professional and as I said before, this release is one of the band’s best efforts. If you are triggered enough, don’t even try to listen to it, or do it and change your fucking mind. However if you like the band and the way the band takes out their inner serial killer, listen to “Red Before Black” and you won’t regret it.
We make a sound, they’ll end our fucking lives!
