Label: Wind Up Records/Nuclear Blast
Year: 2014

Crobot, the bearded Pennsylvanians are back. And this time with more energy and more rock’n’roll attitude. What does it sound like? Well, it sounds like all the favourite bands of a rocker put together, but heavier and groovier.

From the first track you can feel the positive vibes from the band, and you immediately realize that they really love what they do. There’s no part of any track that didn’t receive the full attention of the production. Their formula just works. My ear captured some Sabbath in there, some Wolfmother, some Queens of the Stone Age, but nothing that gives you the idea of direct influence from these bands. I’ve heard that Crobot are pure maniacs in live shows, and it seems the transferred that insanity in to the studio. It’s what you call the perfect soundtrack for a really good day to keep you motivated.

This review doesn’t comes from a guy that listens to Crobot’s stuff for the first time, so here comes the truth. If you are not a fanatic of the modern rock style like Truckfighters, Scorpion Child etc, you will not be impressed. If you are though, well there’s your driving soundtrack right there. Don’t get me wrong, the album is good. Really good actually. But it’s not impressive enough for an outsider, and I think he will forget it in a week or something (except for the closing track ‘Queen of the Light’ which is pure awesomeness). It’s the kind of music that you hear when you walk into a bar, thirsty for beer, and you get pumped up. And you know what? That’s all we need….
