Personally, this release confused me so much. In the first listening session were several the times that I caught myself being unfocused, unable to figure out if I had to pass the buck to the album or if I was the one who is wrong, because I could not concentrate. With a bit of good will, however, and eventually considering that the fault was clearly mine, I gave to the album one more listening chance. This second time, unfortunately, the same thing happened again, to a lesser extent of course, but the same thing. This release did not succeed to amuse me and make me totally prepossessed, despite the very ambitious beginning that fills you with promises for an equivalent continuance.
But, to get the things in turn, ‘D6s6nti6rro’ – ‘Desentierro’ for those who did not understand the title and which in Spanish means ‘exhume’ – is the seventh album of the Madrileños blackmetallers CRYFEMAL, a band that counts more or less twenty years of lifetime. In the eight songs of a total duration of forty minutes, ruthless speeds give their place to creeping melodies, Dark Funeral and Belphegor influences are so clear from the very first minutes, while some epic acoustic parts reminded me something of Bathory. The atmosphere hides a gloomy and occult feeling, the like a lion’s roar vocals are not bad at all and having the required depth are so aggressive and mystical, while the total production of the album is quite good, and emphasizes all the above.
All these things may sound interesting and overall the album might not be completely indifferent, but the dent in many moments is drowning the good, the distinctive parts that can be found in ‘D6s6nti6rro’, which is finally a satisfying release, from which I single out some specific songs (‘Infestacion’, ‘Bajo Astral’, ‘Espectros de Belmez’), but nothing more.
