Dan Deagh Wealcan – Who Cares What Music Is Playing In My Headphones?
Genre: Industrial/Electronic/Progressive
Country: Russia
Label: Total Metal
Year: 2015
Six months after their debut, Russians Dan Deagh Wealcan strike back with a new record. This is a case of trust on their (much) material and overly productive feelings, which many times, if not most of them, leads to the demise of quality of the tracks. Once again, their title is ultra – long, as happened on their debut (‘Two Straight Horizontal Lines And The Organized Chaos In Between’) and once again the mix / marriage between different genres are the themes of this release; many effects, electronic sounds, many industrial elements and progressive obsessions and efforts.
It’s not record that will blow you away, but once you catch its drift, despite its weird structure, it will win you over or at least satisfy you. Conflicting elements by N.I.N., Tool, Ministry, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson and The Dillinger Escape, along with mathcore experimentations create a weird an at the same time interesting mixture that is addressed to crazy or extremely open – minded people, with a huge range of genre preferences, line Mike Patton’s or Devin Townsend’s fans, but with a more industrial twist.
