Dimlight were formed in 2006 and three years later, around the mid-2010, they released their first full length album, titled “Obtenebration” via Emotion Art Ltd.
In 2012 they released their second studio album, “Psychosynthesis”, who scored some success and brought the band an invitation to the Metal Female Voices Festival (MFVF). They have toured extensively in Europe and have shared the stage with Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil, Epica, Septic Flesh, Rotting Christ, Firewind, The Haunted, Delain, Xandria, Vision oF Atlantis, Leaves Eyes and many others. In August 2014, the main singer Sanna Salou left the band and Eve Fourlanou replaced her.
Their music is described as symphonic death metal, female fronted but not operatic, with Eva having more rock / metal guts and voice style than Leather Leone, Doro etc, sounding more sinister. She makes a great team with Invoker (guitar / vocals) who makes the death vocals, which is excellent. There is the participation of various artists in several operatic and narrative places, as well, where needed of course.
Musically, they seem to have written the soundtrack of their own film, based on concept, which refers to Egyptian mythology. The music is epic, symphonic, majestic, with a strong oriental element. The compositions are well-crafted and high-leveled. The band has left nothing to chance, demonstrating excellent professionalism.
The atmosphere created is equal to the one created by Septicflesh, Nile, Melechesh, Fleshgod Apocalypse and, even, Dimmu Borgir. When you listen to such works and especially by a band from your own lands, support is indispensable.
