Eight years have passed for Dirty Granny Tales to present us again their red-headed princess. The Didi’s Son show is now refreshed and enriched with new acts on stage and animations. This new perspective of the Didi’s Son will tour Greece in March 2018.
It was characterized as the best performance in the biggest festival of Smyrna, it was given a headline role after its first appearance in Romania, it broke the ticket record at the English Theater of Berlin, it played for three sold out performances at the international performing art festival in Bergen, Norway etc.
For those who are not aware of the dark tales of the dirty granny, they are a combination of live acoustic music, puppetry, dance and animation projection. There is an intense presense of Tim Burton, The Residents as well as Manos Hadjidakis, David Bowie, Black Metal, and progressive psychedelic rock. The dance along with the dolls and the costumes and the movements might remind you of the Japanese Gothic Theater.
Didi’s Son is about the erotic attraction of the storyteller with the protagonist of his work. The fruit of their love will bring to the imaginary world a descendant who belongs neither there, nor here in our world. It is half a imaginary, half true.
