With a massive amount of food and alcohol from the holidays feast fighting in the stomach for the first class ticket that leads to the gut, we went down the Bums on this Saturday night. People were starting to come in when Thorn Burial from Larissa first hit the stage. Now I admit that I haven’t heard them before. My bad.
They are young, they are good musicians, they are furious and they played their set of older and new songs that will be included in their first full album that is underway. Their thrash is made from fans to fans and it isn’t stuck to a certain school since their influences start from Venom, pass from Sepultura (arise era),look on Kreator and end up hammering like Dark Angel and Sadus. Special mention goes to the drummer (not that the others don’t worth it) who really kicked his drums ass while he was headbanging from the beginning like the there’s no tomorrow. Despite the young of his age,he’s one of the best in this genre in the local scene. What more can you expect from a guy who wears a Slaughter t shirt? Many congrats to these guys.

Second in the row was Noise Disorder. Their style is a bit different and closer to speed metal (and they honored that by covering Human Insecticide), they played new songs from their upcoming album and old like Execution and Under Suicide Command which were greeted by the fans that already had filled the venue. They made good impression once more since the band is well rehearsed and experienced with many gigs during the last years. They closed their set with United Forces of-you-know-who. Their stylistic interference to this drumming fashion contest was a Zeke t shirt..Love this guy!

With the venue full (100+ people),Endless Recovery came out and they really celebrated the release of their new album from Witches Brew entitled Revel In Demise which had the lion’s share in their setlist. Last time I saw them was a couple of months back when they opened for Razor here in Athens. Like then, they made an excellent performance in the little stage of Bums they were even better and I bet they will be even better next time since the band is working really hard on their material.

They played their whole new album with the bangers raging in their front row while in Reaping Fire things got out of hand. Furthermore we heard Thrash Rider, the title track of their previous album and a cover of Invisible Force (what do you mean who’s??) which were honored by all who attended! We excpect their upcoming gig, hopefully to be as soon as possible, please.
Of course the fashion that wants the drummers to be the more well dressed in the bands, didn’t pass them by and the Hallow’s Eve t shirt this one was wearing showed their kind and pure intentions. Last but not least, the special guests on this fine evening Convixion. Due to bad luck they missed their gig with Razor some time ago and they really let all their steam blow out on this gig. Ok,this is a band that is synonym to the term “live heavy metal”,that their every performance is a party and this Saturday night was no exception. We heard old songs, new songs, requests (that the band hadn’t rehearsed but after pressure from numerous fans they succumbed) covers from Celtic Frost, Exciter, Jaguar and more that escape me now. The band and the people all were one on stage at some point and they made this day one to remember for a long time while “Every note that comes out of the speakers tonight is dedicated to Lemmy”. Thus spoke Papakostas, their frontman.

Do I need to say something more?
Also they had the winner in the drummer fashion contest with their drummer wearing a R.A.T.T.L.E.S.N.A.K.E t shirt.
In conclusion it was a night-celebration to metal and the greek metal scene and the best way to enter in 2016.A big bravo to all the bands for this night and to the people that came, supported and filled the venue. On my way out my stomach started making sounds again..Mission accomplished.
