Entrails the Swedish Death Metal veterans are back with their 7th full length album, out via Hammerheart Records on June 24th. It seems like yesterday when they released Tales From The Morgue and finally we saw their music vision in flesh and bones. It wasn’t easy for a band that was established in 1990 to release its debut after 30 years but what we got in our hands since 2008 and their reincarnation turned to be worth the wait and in the other proved emphatically that nothing seems impossible for these guys from Stockholm. It’s the second album for Penki Samuelsson’s switch to vocals and Markus Svenson on guitars, as also there is a new coming, a new drummer, Arvid Borg. Now we all know what to expect from them, we don’t need any tricks, no progressive elements, no experimentations; gloomy atmosphere, eerie down tuned melodic riffs, buzz chainsaw guitars, raw guttural vocals, pummeling punkish d-beat drumming, boss HM-2 pedal driven and razor sharp melodies are enough ingredients to serve my dish full of protein, vitamins and Swedeath. Bon appetite! …not so fast hah!? Well for those who need extra push to make them buy this record I have to admit that I have several ideas to make you change your mind, in fact eleven ones as much as the album’s songs but I’ m running out of excuses for them….don’t be pussies…the old school 90’s Death Metal Entrails deliver is always interesting and worth exploring even if some of you were disappointed from their last albums since 2015. With my hand on the Bible…ok I’m kidding with hand οn heart An Eternal Time of Decay may not as essential as their first 3 albums; 2010’s Tales From the Morgue, 2011’s The Tomb Awaits, and 2013’s Raging Death, however this album stands above their last three efforts 2015’s Obliteration, 2017’s World Inferno and 2019’s Rise of the Reaper works like a reminder to both fans and the band of what they can really offer and also represents a much needed triumphant restart for their career. The artwork is done by sci-fi artist Henrik Ågren, the album is mixed by founder Jimmy Lundqvist and mastered by Dan Swanö.
