Active since 2013 the Polish death metal band Eteritus at last released their debut album named “Following the Ancient Path”. The album comes as the continuance of “Tales of Death” E.P. (2014). The members of the band are for years in the scene playing in underground local bands such as Kalot Enbolot, Moriturus, Neasit, North, Vexatus and more. Based on traditional death metal forms, the eight tracks (plus an intro) of the album sounds enjoyable, into the point and without exaggerations. Think of Unleashed (when they used to be a great band), Grave and Vader (in their slower parts). “Hellish Imagery” and “Mortal Prophecy” is maybe the best tracks of the album. Production and artwork are also good and make the whole package more attractive. The artwork is made by Bartłomiej Kurzok, a talented artist who had worked also with Ulcer, Abigail, Decaying and many more and for the production responsible is Michał Barski (Naamah, ex-Escape From). A very promising start for the band. Every death metal maniac would find something interesting in this album. I will have a close eye on them and you better do so too.
