The trio from Saitama returns with its Katana shining brighter and sharper than ever. “Where Warriors Once Dreamed a Dream” is their fourth full length album. Brilliant title, excellent cover, for a marvellous album indeed; an album whose Japanese aura travels you through time to another era. Of course this is not a pleasant journey as the band plays this samurai-metal (as they named it) which is rather a violent and cruel mixture of death metal.
The bass lines are merciless as always, the voice is stronger than the 50% of the singers of today’s death metal scene. We are dealing with a killer throat, not this winny whisperings that we baptize “unholy” hopeing that we can save the game for a soft throat! Tkahata has no remorses nor regrets as he spits his lines on the microphone. The main difference on this album compared to their previous efforts is that the guitars are now a bit in front as they got a bigger role on their sound. Probably the guitars are now even more tecnical something that takes a bit from their raw side (a side that I really enjoy) and it is something that I have to mention.
The 12 compositions shows that the band has worked really hard on them and the clean cut production is helping on that. As usual there’s high speed and groove all over the album and that’s exactly where the band shows its teeth. It is like the mighty Benedictuion rising from their grave jamming with Gorefest drinking along with all the old school beasts of the genre.
This combo of History – Samurai – Death Metal – Tradition and Full Speed Attack, is what keeps this shitty and without imagination and inspiration Death Metal scene alive today. It was released from the Japanese Bang your Head Records. Buy it and support this band ‘cause is worth a lot. Don;t forget to watch them playing live whenever you have the chance to see them. And remember, no seconds thoughts about it!
