Graveyard after Graveyard – Bagged and Dragged To a Fullmoon Burial
Genre: Death / Thrash
Country: Sweden
Label: Go Fuck Yourself Productions
Year: 2014
Graveyard after Graveyard are a Swedish trio, with Rogga Johansson on bass, guitars and vocals, Jocke Ringdahl on drums and Mika Lagren on guitars. “Bagged and Dragged To a Fullmoon Burial” is their first full length album, released on September 3rd 2014 via Go fuck Yourself Productions. It’s on CD format limited to 500 copies. They have already released an EP with the same tracks in 2014.
As far as the record goes, we have a weird instrumental intro with keyboards. Spooky, setting the mood. Could actually be used as an outro as well. There is a variety on the tempo of the tracks. Both high speed and mid – tempo ones, like “The Giant Tombs”. The production is very good for the genre and the ideas used reveal musicians full of excitement and eager to produce good music, but from a point on it gets kinda boring. The compositions played are not something innovative or something you haven’t heard of. Classic death / thrashy solos and drums, which most of the bands of the genre use. Even though it is obvious that they’ve got good ideas, I really think they should pay more attention on how to make their music unique; to compose tracks different from all the other bands. An example is “Speed Metal Machine” in which e do have a variety on vocals and speed. That’s good, but it’s just that. They could have experimented more in order to create a sound of their own.
Overall, it’s a decent record with very good production, but it is part of the line, nothing special. Check it out if you want, but do not expect it to blast your ears off.
