Country: Canada
Label: Eisenwald Tonschmiede
Year: 2014

After the remarkable 2011’s debut album «À la lumière des cendres» the Canadian blackmetallers Grimoire (one-man project of Forteresse’s Fiel) return, this time with an EP release with a total duration of 25 minutes.

In the four tracks of «L’aorasie des spectres rêveurs», is kept the same «tales» style with their debut, with great epic musical themes and a «primordial» atmosphere combined with vocals coming from… a cave, but in the first two songs we listen something different than what we were used to, since the «speed» is «faster» and there are a lot of blastbeats – of course perfectly alternating with the classic mid-tempo parts. The third track is a classic Grimoire one of the «À la lumière des cendres», in which the tempo… touches the ground, while the last song is an instrumental one with some operatic vocal samples.

The production is far better than the debut, more «clean» and powerful while I did not like the artwork as much as the previous release’s one. There is something awesome, but it is still a worthwhile release that will be appreciated mainly by the fans of this music style.
