Never was and never will be an RPG fan and all these fantasy role-playing games, so never crossed my mind what the hell the name/word Gygax meant. But I love Thin Lizzy-like, 70’s hard rock/rock ‘n roll and the California based band Gygax (a band that rose from the ashes of Gypsyhawk back in 2015) is a very good reason to make you try to find what story is behind their name. Gygax, the band, named for “Dungeons & Dragons” co-creator Gary Gygax, released two days ago their third full length studio album, “High Fantasy,” and you better run to find also their first two records, ”Critical Hits” (2016) and “2nd Edition” (2018). Please do that, if you love Thin Lizzy inspired mature and dynamic creations, well crafted ripping rockers, with nice, warm vocals, brilliant riffs based on the twin-guitar hard rock formula, melodic parts and soaring harmonies, up-tempo hard rock. Then you probably just got your new heroes!
