Harlott are the next big thing in the thrash metal genre. I’m still trying to collect my jaws from the floor. These guys are what I was searching for in a new band with an old – school attitude. It’s like rejuvenating yourself with a young gal on your side.

This new Exodus – version comes from Australia and was formed in 2006, having released three EPs (one of them was never officially released) and one more self-released album, titled “Origin”. In April the band released this record and this was more than enough to make the world to talk about them and Metal Blade to decide to officially release them. Brian Slagel have I told you that you’re a God… for the past 35 years?

With Bay Area attitude flowing through their veins, and with Exodus, Testament and Holy Terror being their idols, these thrashers released a thrash/speed diamond of 45 minute duration, with their style being close to the style the aforementioned bands had when they started their careers. They have come to shake the underground waters. Relentless speed, energy in its fullest, riffs of total destruction, chaos and vocals that remind me of late Keith Deen (Holy Terror).

Despite the album’s artwork, which doesn’t seem to match the record’s quality, the latter one is, in a word, excellent. Grab it with your eyes closed and prepare for a total blast. Ranking it 5 was the only choice.
