Norwegian thrashers Harm, not to be confused with the German death metal band that shares the same name, being true to their appointment, return with their third full length release, “October Fire”. I use phrase “true to their appointment” because this album is released five years after their second album, which have been released, yes, you’ve guessed it right, five years after their debut.

Listening to “October Fire” for the first time, I was vastly impressed by two things. On the one hand, their good production and on the other hand how modern their sound is. And they manage both without losing anything from their extreme style or aggressive mentality. To be honest, this approach is a small oasis between the releases from other bands who seem to believe that thrash metal should have deliberately a crappy production, something that often leads to funny or disappointing results.

Fortunately, Harm doesn’t belong in this category and we can listen and understand their mature sound that has no holds barred. From the very beginning of the album and until the end of it, we are listening to a fast release that is good for remorseless head banging, while at the same time the enraged vocals fit quite nicely with their music. A really good album, suitable for fans of the genre and those who like listening to extreme sound in general.

4.5/6
