The athenians Immensity have released their debut, entitled ”The Isolation Splendour”, four years after their demo “The Lonely Aquarelle” and almost seven since the formation of the band. From the very first moments, the record puts you in a sad mood, in a misty, wet atmosphere. So, sadness, grief, melancholy, are feelings each human soul feels for the better or the worse and most of the times, they are caused by or targeted at Anger. That’s the point where the doom/death aesthetics kick in an act as a helper for the listener, standing as a pillar of hope in this difficult psychological situation. That’s exactly what this record does. Angry brutal vocals on one hand, soft and funerary vocals on the other. And all this is accompanied by slow rhythms with lead guitars that seem to have sprung from the Great British School (of Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Anathema of the early ears). Highly interesting release, with great production and above all, filled with essence.
