Hi Guys! My name is Elpida and I welcome you to Metal Invader! I wish you all well! How are things these days?

Hi Elpida! We are in the phase where we are counting days until April 28th, when we will meet again with Nightstalker!

Are you ready? What can we expect from you?

First of all, we are very happy to be back in the same stage as Nightstalker. We are ready to present you some of the new songs of the new album we are preparing.

How did Shotgunz come to life? Whose idea was it and how did the band get flesh and blood?

Shotgunz has always existed in our souls. It started in 2004 with some compositions, along with the school in the morning, in 2009 – after the school season – we started playing live and in 2015 we released our first album. In a few days we’ll start the recordings for the second.

Musically speaking, you’ve devoted yourselves to Heavy Rock. What drove you there and what are your influences?

This is the sound we wanted to have. Our musical influences are more classic ones and are not so much related to the sound and character of the band.

How much is Thessaloniki a Heavy Rock city? Has the life, especially the nightlife of our city, influenced your musical expression?

Thessaloniki is generally a rock city. Our music is what we have in our soul and it is not influenced by anything.

What themes do you elaborate on in your lyrics and what is the message you want to pass into the world?

Our verses refer to everything. It’s nice to hear different conclusions from the band’s friends. This is the most important thing; to be able to communicate with people through the lyrics and music you write.

Your debut album, “Based On A True Story,” was released on 12/11/2015 by ROAR records. Do you have any plans for new material? Do you have anything ready? If so, can we expect a release soon?

We have the new material ready and we’ll start recordings. The new album will be released in autumn.

After almost ten years of Shotgunz, do you believe that you have achieved the goals you have set at times, especially those you set at the beginning of your journey?

The first goal has been conquered and that’s about playing the music we love. The next goal was for the crowd to love what we love. Let’s go for the next.

Extending the previous question, what has changed and what has remained the same for Shotgunz these about ten years?

Just that Alexandros Athanasiadis Alex Athan, is now the band’s new drummer . Our fondness towards music is what has remained the same.

What is the next step for Shotgunz? What does the future hold?

Much comes in the near future…

That’s all from me at the moment, I am looking forward to seeing you soom. Close the interview as you want!

We should keep our minds open.

Thanks Elpida and Metal Invader for hosting us.
