Hailing from Goslar, Lower Saxony, Iron Fate have already many years as a band, (2004 to 2005 as Crypteria and 2005 to present under the moniker Iron Fate) but unfortunately only two studio albums. Their debut “Cast in Iron” that came in 2010 was a decent release but didn’t win the attention of the masses. Now they return a decade+ after it with “Crimson Messiah” (via Massacre Records) to claim a place in metal fans hearts. If you compare these two works you’ll be facing two very different bands. Iron Fate circa 2021 is a killer machine. They play a hybrid of US Power and Thrash Metal, totally inspired by American ‘80s metal, full of high energy, high pitched vocals in the veins of Jag Panzer, Queensrÿche, Charred Walls Of The Damned, Helstar, Deadly Blessing, early Fates Warning and Crimson Glory, while the guitars are aggressive and sharp while the rhythm section strong as cement. Speaking of Jag Panzer, Harry Conklin (also in Three Tremors/Titan Force/Satan’s Host) is a guest in a brilliant song entitled “Crossing Shores”. Other great moments of this underground gem is the almost 10 minutes long epos “Strangers (In The Mind)” featuring Deny the Urge’s Henrik Osterloh, “Crimson Messiah”, “We Rule The Night” is too Queensrÿche-like for my taste but Tate’s fans will love it, same for “Mirage” that will bring in mind a Dickinson/Tate mixture is just brilliant and the Maidenisque “Guardians Of Steel” outstand from an album well-crafted and carefully recorded. A hidden treasure…
