Four years have already passed since “The Great Execution” was released, and our brothers come back with “Forged In Fury”. The truth is, when I listened to the record for the first time, I didn’t liked much the outcome; and yes, I said it, even if I’ve been a fan of the band for 15 years. The more I listened to it, the more I liked it though. Is it because I pushed myself to actually like it? Is it because I actually liked it? I don’t know, but it did some damage in me, that’s for sure. The speed has been lowered very much considering Krisiun’s levels. That’s something I noticed in their previous release as well. But, that doesn’t change the fact they’re metal to the bone coming form the Brazilian jungles. IT’S FUCKING KRISIUN. The record is well crafted as far as the compositions are concerned and the bass guitar is straight-forward, as we’ve been used to by Krisiun. Moyses gives a magnificent recital on his guitar with his characteristic way of playing. The drums are primarily mid-tempo, yet that doesn’t lower the speed of the kicks downstairs. The record is consisted of ten tracks and was released via Century on CD and a limited-press vinyl format. The artwork is excellent, well fitted for a band like Krisiun. Krisiun were the ones that made death metal genre reach sky limits, along with Sepultura and Sarcofago in Brazil, creating this way their own style, followed by many in the years that came. Some things don’t change.
