Using terms in our music is both useful and practical. However, it could turn out to be misleading and restrictive in a way. If I had to describe Lazy Man’s Load, I would probably use the term “stoner”. But their music is not as restrictive as the term may imply. You will also catch a glimpse of Southern Metal, in the footsteps of the Black Label Society, Pantera’s dynamics, and last but not least a groove essence. Sometimes slower and sometimes clumsier. Even Load-era Metallica are all over “All Hat No Cattle.” I don’t even bother to mention Sabbath, because I take it for granted. All in all, a varied music canvas is created, which makes the album have a very pleasant flow. I forgot to mention that the band is based in Athens and this is its first material to be out. If you expect debut albums’ pathogens, you’ve lost the bet. Everything sounds professional, from production to composition. A band that steps into the scene in order to claim what is to be claimed right from the start. Personally, I really enjoyed the bass, in terms of structure and production. Their music is ideal for sweat/beer/raw live shows. Fingers crossed, and when concerts are on, we will cherish “All Hat No Cattle” where it deserves to be heard … live!
