Lead Injector’s debut album “Witching Attack” delivers a ferocious blast of black/thrash metal from this Dresden trio, blending raw aggression with old-school influences. Released in 2026 via High Roller Records, it captures their rapid evolution since forming in 2022.
Formed by Jason (guitar), Leo (bass/vocals), and Justus (drums), Lead Injector emerged from solo projects and local school bands. Their 2024 demo “From the Crypts… of Hell” built buzz in Dresden’s scene, alongside ties to acts like Sintage and Acid Blade. The full-length reworks demo tracks with new material, recorded in a intense seven-day session at Stereoid Studios in August 2025, mixed by Patrick W. Engel.
Grimy, abrasive sound mirrors mid-’80s thrash—raw but punchy, letting riffs ravage without polish. Vocals sometimes bury in the mix, but the pit-ready energy compensates, evoking studded leather and violence. SepulchralOwl’s hand-drawn artwork nails the occult visual identity.
What elevates Lead Injector above the thrash pack is their obsessive songcraft. “We make sure that each of our songs is individual and unique, no two sound alike,” Leo boasts—and damn if they don’t deliver. Opener “Witching Attack” erupts in a whirlwind of buzzing riffs and Leo’s guttural snarls, channeling early Sodom savagery with a black metal frostbite edge. Tracks like “Crypts of Hell” (demo redux) mutate into hulking beasts, swapping lo-fi grit for studio punch while retaining that crypt-dweller menace. Mid-album crushers “Satan’s Whip” and “Hellfire Ritual” pivot to mid-tempo grooves laced with venomous leads, ensuring hooks that lodge in your skull amid the chaos—no filler, just variety that keeps the pit swirling.
Lead Injector aren’t reinventing black/thrash; but while paying homage to ’80s extremists like Sodom, Destruction, Whiplash, and Venom they’re injecting it with fresh blood.
