The rainy first day of March of the saving year 2024…
in the city of Thessaloniki..He offered us a night of honest ROCK..!! The Walking Stone Giants..from Thessaloniki opened, as support, for Uli Jon Roth..
A stoner/heavy rock band…without much fanfare and verbiage..with a pretty good sound..I’d say..they kept the audience warm..I dare say, their Blue Oÿster Cult influences, didn’t leave me unmoved. ..I wish the band good luck..because it’s not easy to be a Greek band..out there and we all know that!
With a short wait..The Teuton, master of the six-string, with the style of a captain, came on stage with his 5-member composition..to spread excitement in the audience..which admittedly was quite a large crowd! Probably 250 to 300 people..and the best part..all ages from kids who came with their parents..younger kids heavy rockers and some budding thrashers! They gave the present! Even older, of course, who definitely grew up with Scorpions!
With a better sound, they came on stage and electrified me directly..with the Scorpions’ hits again..a very good and strong section and a bassist/singer who was more than worthy of my expectations..anything but a comparatist…The band was so close that, at some point, I thought if it was just Roth’s new band and all these were their songs! At this moment all hostilities in the world would stop and we would have world peace!
By far the best moment “In Trance” “Pictured Life” and the powerful arrangement of Jimi Hendrix’s “All along the watchtower” one of Roth’s favorite influences.. Who did not lose at all the magic of his electric voice and this eclectic style playing the guitar..!
An honest rock night with emotion and good company was something that was worth it..in a place like the Mylos facilities..we have enjoyed several emotions and concerts in the past..In closing, however, I should mention that the ceiling inside the place was dripping with water rain something that the store officials should give a basis, so that we don’t mourn a victim in a future concert!
