If you have some years on your back and you’ve been collecting obscure records since you were young, then there’s no chance that you haven’t heard of this New York band, that their cassette EP was so cherished, that was traded in any possible shape way or form, cassette, CD-r, musical score, “let me sing to you the amazing chorus of…” etc etc. The result, by either trading or through internet later on, was for their 5 songs to achieve pretty quickly a mythical status.
Unlike many rubbish bands that became “cult” just because they were recorded in the guitarists neighborhood -or his basement downstairs- when he was getting off work in the afternoons and used to play metal with his friends, while his mother was screaming at him for the kind of people he hangs out with and those recordings were handed to 5 of his friends and 0 girlfriends, the Majestic Ryte songs put to shame any Stoner. Why? Because it’s first class, pure, lyrical, EPIC STEEL, well executed, with amazing solos and divine vocals, that adorn mythical riffs.
You won’t find a single mediocre moment in these 5 tracks, the only thing that whoever is reading this has to do, is to simply agree with me and kneel before this New York STEEL, even if they never listened to a single note of their music before.
EVEN IF THE ONLY THING THAT WAS REISSUED WAS THE FALSETTO PART OF ETERNAL PARADISE, I WOULD STILL HAVE BOUGHT IN ADVANCE ALL THE COPIES.
The material will be reissued by Cult Metal Classic in February 25 for the first time in CD form, remastered sound and a booklet that includes plenty of information, photos etc.
I can only get emotional, knowing that this will sit next to my CD-R that the cover is made with MS Word fonts, that also included the Majestic Ryte EP, the Tyrant 7’’ and the 2 demos of Heathens Rage. Whoever used to be heavily into trading, knows exactly what I’m talking about!
