Hell awakened… for good. Death metal album of the year without excesses. Although there were released keenly albums from Nile, Hate Eternal, Krisiun, Entrails, Kataklysm etc but this one is one click above them all, it’s what you want to hear today when you’re looking for old school death metal. It’s so direct and intense, merciless and barbaric that without realizing it, a five-piece of killers sets you on the wall and kills indiscriminately.

Not that they released good albums in the past, far from it, but they came to have almost 30 years of career having not received the similar recognition, remaining the poor relatives of death metal and at the end they will be considered as underrated.

Not that they are not responsible for this predicament and the bands themselves, the largest share of responsibility belongs to the bands, but there must be some kind of respect by the labels that go and sign a contract with them, especially the big ones that want to bet on them, to support them proportionally and not peddle us whatever occasional crap-band that circulates. In the album, several fans were surprised by the front-cover that looks pretty close to Monstrosity’s «Imperial Doom». Fine print for those who are eaten with their whiskers and want to make from the fly suet. The cover sows, like the music. What if the title-track that opens the album is slow, which essentially looks like a five-minute intro, from there and after we got a massacre from a barrage of Slayerish riffs, with the guitar duet, Fasciana/Geraca being a submachine gun, throwing at blasts, with the guitars reaping what they sowed, not letting you to take a breath.

When talking about death metal drumming, go to Mr. DiPinto for intensive lessons (and to George Kollias is meant) and finally Brett Hoffmann it matters having one of his best performances on a Malevolent Creation record.

With such album… nobody will destroy this… Malevolent Creation. Tracks that stand out? Spin it from the start… and repeat it several times. Already the album is a classic, and loosely it takes a five star rating, unmerciful ‘cause above all it deserves it. Always like that.
