It’s been already 7 years since Minotaur’s legendary release with the extremely provocative title “God May Show You Mercy… We Will Not“. Their comeback is marked with a MLP released by High Roller Records, which in turn marks the band’s return to the music industry and the return of the mighty Phil Lawvere, something that could excite the thrashers of the entire globe regardless the album’s musical contents. Those who aren’t familiar with mister Lawvere, stop reading this review and by extent Metal Invader, open a new tab in your browser and hit the like button in the world’s most embarrassing facebook page. The rest of you can carry on reading. There are no changes in the band’s sound; at least there are no loud ones, though the introductory track is speedy with heavy guitars. If the vocals were different it could be an Enforcer song! The rest three tracks move into more Kreator-ish paths, with an utterly German quality, old school feeling and barbaric riffs on which their sound is based. It’s a good foretaste for the upcoming release, which I hope it’ll happen soon. Until then this MLP serves perfectly as an appetizer the following one and naturally stands as a stand-alone release; as a vinyl its worth half a point more than the one you see below.
