When you see that in an album is involved Mr. Scott Kelly (and the distribution here in Greece is by Heathen Natives) you sort of know of what you’ re getting yourself into; it will be slow, it will be mournful, it will be sick. Add the collaboration with the /engineer/sonic warlord Sanford Parker and the puzzle is done. Now that Corrections House, that saw Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea,) Scott Kelly (Neurosis,) Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and Mike IX Williams (EyeHateGod) creating a super group of industrial/sludge/doom, is now on ice –if not just history, Kelly and Parker gave birth to Mirrors for Psychic Warfare. No we are not dealing with a new release, as the self titled mini album is out for almost 2 years now. But even now you can try a deep dive into this ocean of emotions, in this sonic manifestation of insomnia. Only five songs are quiet enough to create the haunting atmosphere of the dynamic duo. The Neurosis-project galaxy added another brilliant star into its sky. Futuristic sounds blend with sludgy groans guitars in a peculiar combination of electro-doom hybrid that is similar to Sunn O)))’s works. Definitely experimental, dark and placed in a post-apocalyptic scenery Mirrors for Psychic Warfare is an album certainly worth invest to.
