Genre: Doom
Country: Germany
Label: Final Gate Records
Year: 2016

Doom metal certainly is not the new trend but Black Sabbath has unfortunately somehow achieved to be one of the most influential bands of this fuckin’ universe and every year bands pop up like mushrooms trying to win something from Sabs’ hype. This is something you have already heard or read somewhere probably even thought of it and actually it makes sense if you consider that their music defines the word “timeless”. So Monolith picked the hard way to follow as you can’t stand out when you choose to be one of the many… Your compositions must be a least top notch and your influences to be as much filtered as can be. But these Germans here have same riffs exactly as Sabbath, their vocals is a mixture of Ozzy and Dan Fondelius by Count Raven and their songs don’t have the variety or the quality to win you. This is their sophomore release following the “Dystopia” album that came out in 2014, and unfortunately not much have changed for Monolith. Perhaps less stoner and more doom elements are now present than in their debut but everything under the Sabbath spirit that dominates their creations and in fact being the Achilles heel of them…

2,5/6
