Motörhead: A Small Rest For The Wicked

“I can’t do it.” The phrase that caught everyone by surprise during last night’s Motorhead concert in Texas. Lemmy, right before introducing the track “Metropolis”, told the crowd he couldn’t continue with the concert and left the stage, even after performing just three songs. Last week the band had cancelled another show in Salt Lake City, blaming the high altitude for Lemmy’s inability to normally breathe. Next night’s concert in Denver was cancelled, too, being in an even higher altitude. Lemmy returned to apologize to the concerned crowd for this inconvenience.

Kilmister suffers  from health issues for quite some time now. In 2013 he was hospitalized for a bypass procedure and for presenting hematoma. Probably, that’s what causes all this trouble and frustration.

They’re scheduled to continue their US tour tonight (September 2) in Texas. Dates in Europe and the UK will follow, with a 40th anniversary show at London’s Eventim Apollo on January 29.
