Genre: Crust/Punk / Hardcore
Country: Sweden
Label: Cyclone Empire
Year: 2016

Scene veterans Parasit are back with another brilliant release that delivers top notch crust punkish hardcore as only the Swedes can deliver. Formed in 2010 by three former members of crust unsung heroes Uncurbed (and Asocial, Diskonto, 3 Way Cum and Raised By Drunks), Parasit released their critically acclaimed debut entitled “Välj Din Egen Bödel” and made quite a noise in 2013. There are a lot of similarities with genre legends such as Doom, Discharge, Disfear, Wolfbrigade, Victims and Extreme Noise Terror (and Napalm Death in vocals) but you already know what to expect from these Swedes; frenetic d-beat pummeling your ears and downtuned axe guitars destroying your soul. The great thing about this album is that in terms of memorability songs stick to your mind and in terms of how you can recognize easily the songs it is obviously distinguishable each of another from the chorus, the guitar riff or solo, something really remarkable for 17 tracks or pure aggression and hate. But there’s more than speed and d – beat wrath here. No violence for the sake of violence, still pure hate but lyrics has something to say. The vocal lines -that are pretty awesome- spit the lyrics where you can find anything from songs about drinking (“After Work Bars” probably the best song of the album) or political leftwing based anti-capitalistic ones (“Money Slave” and “Market Sets”) to more personal every day issues (“En Vilsen Själ” in English ‘A Lost Soul’). “A Proud Tradition of Stupidity” is another gem for the genre that stands equally beside the last Victims effort, both enriching this poor year in quality records until now.
