It took four years to recover from the majestic performance on “New Model”, but the mastermind behind Perturbator decided to thrill once again his audiences with “Lustful Sacraments”, which could be nothing less than an album filled with erotic, gothic, horror punk synths and industrial melodies.
Mostly dominating the venues as a live act, Perturbator’s shows are like trips to another dimensions, where you get to make all of your unrealistic erotic fantasies come true. “Lustful Sacraments” balance between post-punk vibes along with 80’s retro-synth melodies, all aligned under some subliminal heavy metal tunes. These themes tie well and take us back to some slasher, low-budget movie with a great soundtrack. Dark electro has definitely not taken it’s toll yet and Perturbator knows how to keep the blood pumping for his name every time he appears somewhere. The album’s best moments are definitely the songs “Death of the Soul” and “Dethroned Under a Funeral Haze”, the latter of which marks the climax of “Lustful Sacraments”. Without having to scratch much beneath the surface, the synthwave community has come to appreciate all new releases without being really strict about what they hear, especially if there’s a darker background is these tunes. I will finish my text with a really on-spot comment I saw on Perturbator; “It’s rare to have an artist who can keep delivering without the quality degrading or becoming a parody of himself. Perturbator keeps delivering.”
Are parties back already?
