“Legacy of Fire” is the third release for these Spanish fellas as Phantom Mask (plus two as Deliverance) and it seems to be their best effort so far. Far from the galloping horse power of their previous release, they deliver an EP base on the class and the tradition of three great eras of Heavy Metal. N.W.O.B.H.M., mid 80’s German Speed and enough U.S. metal from the early Vicious Rumors school. There are melodic leads here and there and they sound like Vengeance from Holland swallowed Lawrence of Arabia (nice and exotic) while in the background the rhythm section bangs at Morgana Lefay. On all four (songs) you will enjoy them, you‘ll like their catchy parts like Phantom Ride and appreciate the attitude of the singer who yet still needs some practice to step forth. The only thing sounding bad are the keyboards that can be heard here and there. The band shows to be in shape working on their first full length which they plan to release in September. We will await!
