Everybody seems to be in a celebrating mood, everyone seems to have a will to have an anniversary once in a while and what the hell who are we to say to anyone to stop doing it? Power Trip, Texas’s finest Crossover/Thrash band just before they launch their North American (headline) Tour (now on tour about a month already) released a really nice compilation, entitled ‘Opening Fire: 2008-2014’, in order to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The release documents the self-titled 7” (2011), ‘This World’ (from ‘The Extermination Vol: 2’ LP compilation on Flatspot Records), ‘Hammer of Doubt’ (2010 version from ‘America’s Hardcore’ LP compilation on Triple B Records), and the entirety of ‘The Armageddon Blues Sessions.’ Not bad at all I must say. Actually we are dealing with an excellent and complete collection of Power Trip’s earliest non-LP output. Attention all you collectors and old school listeners/mp3 killers! Vinyl, compact disc, and cassette versions are currently in production and will be available at a later date. Until that date, all you lovers of everything from Slayer to Cro-Mags (and everything in between) enjoy below…
