Neither Rage nor Peavy come straight from nowhere into the music industry, yet Peavy’s inclination of constantly restarting his career, makes us think that this release is just like one of those fresh starts. But, that’s who Mr. Wagner is. He’s not Number 1, yet he’s not static and that’s why we love him! With a new lineup in his hands – Marco Rodriguez on guitar and Vassilios Maniatopoulos on drums – Rage come back fully charged and inspired by the past, ready to claim their piece of the modern heavy metal / power cake. Even though the year is not 1995, the brand new track “My Way” seems to have popped out from back then, the glory days of the genre and the peak of (financial) success of the band. Naturally, the tour for the 20 years anniversary of “Black In Mind” release brought back memories to Peavy, resulting into something good. So it’s more than logical for the anniversary tour to be continued to this day (with Helloween on board – unlike their visit here) and accompanied by this EP release, which includes tracks from “Black In Mind” (the same-titled track and “Sent By The Devil”, played in 2015 terms) that blend perfectly with the single and make it sound like its natural continuation. The seal of the release is a little bit adventurous with “My Way” sung in Spanish, entitled ‘Apuesto A Ganar’ which in Greek roughly translates to “To Win” and in English “Bet To Win” … Experiments with the sounds are always good and welcomed, but without us, who live outside Latin America and Spain, gaining anything from this implementation. Looking forward to the upcoming full length album…
