Reverence was a well kept secret if the underground and unfortunately many remember their name only when they mention Todd Michael’s biography. But Riot’s throat is not the only one from the band members that has a strong history behind him, as Bryan Holland from Tokyo Blade is on the line up and the since 2016 singer Scott Olivia also has played in several acts (Oceans of Night, The Nightmare Stage, Wind Wraith, ex-Deranged, ex-Inner Strength, ex-Last Vision Black, ex-Monday Knights, ex-Scott Mosher, Sinner’s Prayer!), plus there’s more worth to mention or to explore about these Americans. They were formed in Detroit in 2010 and have released 2 studio albums, ‘When Darkness Calls’ in 2012 and ‘Gods of War’ in 2015 with Todd Michael behind the microphone. As we mentioned before now with their new singer Scott Olivia the band tries to find its way to bigger audiences. As their previous release and debut with Olivia, the EP ‘Foreverence’ that was out in 2017 wasn’t a hit or something, now with this live recording probably they want to win some time before writing new material and keep their name warm in the streets. Their traditional old school heavy metal has some references to Savatage and Iron Maiden (we can find covers of ‘Power of the Night’ and ‘Wasted Years’ in the live album), while it has a modern sound and clean production. ‘Vengeance Is … Live’ is a kind of a best-of and it is a decent and honest album for all out there that love live recordings, especially coming from the trve underground.
