Are you a friend of radio-friendly/melodic (or call it whatever) hard rock? Do you like Survivor, Journey and all the other heroes of the 80’s?

THEN BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!!

There’s no need to contemplate. Sure, it doesn’t discover a new Continent. Sure, all these have been played before by many. We don’t give a s$it!!! “Revolution Saints” is a Masterpiece. Neither Castranovo nor Aldrich nor Blades need introductions. Usually, supergroups suck. Thankfully, that’s not the case here. These dudes just shred; a lot! Castanovo’s voice encourages heavy drinking a lot and the drumming is flawless. As far as guitars are concerned, I can’t say much, shredding solos, melodic and straight to the point. (I’m referring to these “modern” guys that detest solos, perhaps because they can’t compose one). Blades is the glue, holding the sound tight with his bass guitar performance and his backing vocals. So, any good songs in here? EVERY ONE OF THEM! I know, you may be laughing now. The most mediocre song is by far better than the uninspired and shallow ones that get promoted as killer tracks by AOR. In here we have soul, talent and horn!ness. If I had to choose a song, I’d choose “Here Forever”, in which Castranovo’s vocals are chilling. Yet, the album contains so many good songs that it’s possible for me to have another favorite in a couple of weeks. That’s going straight to my top-of-2015 albums! Cheers!
