Sartori is a brand-new group that is releasing its debut these days. They have taken their name from the main composer and guitarist of the band, Andy Sartori. The other members are Scott Board on vocals, Dino Castano on drums and Rod Viquez on bass. “Dragon’s Fire” is a heavy/power album which fortunately escapes the trivial. There is definitely an emphasis on melodies but I would say it is on the verge of baroque in the sense that great emphasis is placed on creating emotions. The vocals are expressive enough and there are several voice lines while the guitar goes several times to neoclassical paths. The lyrics focus on the positive side with a simple dose of spirituality. There are no negative approaches but thought to about human experiences and how we can become better through them. Listening to “Dragon’s fire” is enjoyable but you cannot overlook its rather short duration. Nine compositions with a total duration of half an hour. The members of the group have the ability to create something more so that you don’t feel incomplete at the end of listening to the disc. In their next recording, they will have to focus more on song writing. In any case, “Dragon’s Fire” is a good effort and the fans of power metal would surely have to check it out.
