So what if Jonas Kjellgren has gone after ten years from the band. Per Nilsson was not intimidated at all and composed a remarkable record, while shouldering the debts of being the basic producer for the band. Indeed it is the first part of a trilogy on the technological singularity, where continuously evolving with breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, robotics, cryogenics and cloning bring humanity to the brink of technoapocalypsis and cybergeddon!
They manage to combine the melodic death metal, progressive and modern metal masterly and the result is very appealing. Catchy melodies and choruses, very easily pass through progressive, epic or brutal passages without becoming at all tedious for the listener. Extra allusion to Roberth Karlsson in his death vocal duties, that is extremely skillful – of the few times that death vocals are far superior to the clean ones. The 45’ of the record are rolling so fine that you do not understand when it ends. You’ll be left with the impression that it has just finished the first part, as actually this is happening. When the second part is coming?
